It’s been called the worst environmental poisoning disasters in the world. Now, the team that documented the effects of mercury poisoning in the water of Grassy Narrows First Nation have been named Radio Canada’s Scientists of the Year for 2023. We’ll speak with one of the Montreal winners, Donna Mergler. She’s Professor Emeritus at the University of Quebec in Montreal, in the department of biological sciences. We’ll also hear from Grassy Narrows Chief Rudy Turtle.
